Medical Micro-needling or Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT) is an innovative, safe way to help minimize the appearance of fine lines and scarring and give skin a beautiful fresh glow. With minimal downtime and natural-looking results, micro needling is ideal for anyone looking for an alternative to all-over skin resurfacing using lasers or to intensive results using rollers.
One of the many benefits of this fabulous new procedure is that it can be used virtually anywhere on the body: face, neck, décolleté, arms, hands, legs, abdomen, and back. It can also have a positive effect on the appearance of hyper-pigmentation, dark spots, acne scars, and stretch marks.
How it Happens
A medical micro-needling procedure begins with a topical numbing cream then speciality epidermal growth factor (EGF) serum. Next, we use an Eclipse MicroPen® to glide over the area to be treated. It feels like light sandpaper on your skin, and while some areas may be more sensitive than others, the speed of the reciprocating Eclipse MicroPen® tip helps to minimize discomfort. Post-treatment, we apply a hydrating mask infused with peptides and stem cell technology and use Celluma LED Light Therapy to promote healing and calm redness.
Immediately following your treatment, you’ll likely see bright redness, with healing taking anywhere from 24 hours to about three days, depending on the area being treated and the number of overlapping passes we perform. We have wonderful quality skincare products that can help speed-up the post-care process.
Many clients notice a glow immediately, with changes to your skin developing in the days and weeks that follow. Results may continue to improve up to six months after the treatment.
Eclipse MicroPen® is FDA approved device in Canada.
How Many Treatments
Some people get optimal results with just one treatment couple times per year. Most people receive 3-4 treatments about 6-8 weeks apart. For deep wrinkles, advanced photo aging, stretch marks, or acne scars, we may recommend 6-8 sessions at 6-week intervals.
As always, we are happy to answer your questions about any of our treatments, and we welcome you for a consultation to determine which treatments are best suited to your
